Relocation
Submitted by: Sean Barber | Hi, my name is Sean Barber. In the next few weeks, my family and I will be relocating to Fairbanks from Daytona Beach, Florida. I've been out of work for a year and a half. We have prayed diligently for a job, and God has provided a wonderful position working for SAIC on the AFB. It will be a big change for us as my wife and kids have never lived outside of Florida, but we feel confident God has led us there and we are very excited. Our family and friends are concerned because we don't know anyone in the area. We are shooting out some e-mails to local churches to try and rally some support through the Body. Finding a new church once we get there will be one of our top priorities.
We have never made a move like this to an area we know nothing about. (Though we have been doing extensive research.) Our main concerns are finding a rental and getting a new vehicle once we get up there. We have three children (10, 4 1/2, and 7months) and a shepherd/retriever mix dog. We will be looking on our own, but would be so grateful if anyone in your congregation knew of a rental for us. We need 2-3 bedrooms, preferably a garage, and pet acceptance. We'd like to stay below $15-1600 for rent, but could possibly swing a little more if necessary. It sounds awful to say this about yourself, but we are an honest, hard-working Christian family. Our dog is extremely friendly (we're afraid she'll try to make friends with the critters :) and well-behaved. My wife is a homemaker and we homeschool our children. We are leaving our little car behind and will be driving a rental car temporarily when we get there. So we are also looking for a vehicle large enough for four children, as we hope to have more.
Above all, we also ask that you would be praying for us as we make this journey. We know that God will provide through all of this, He has been so incredibly faithful through our trials these past months. Please feel free to call us 386-453-1798, we would love to hear from some Alaskans :) If at all possible, unless you have ATT, could you please call us after 5pm your time (after 9 here), so that we can conserve our cell minutes (we've been using quite a lot recently). I thank you that 4 years ago our church had the wisdom to select a Pastor who is a real Christian man. A man who, by his own admission, is not perfect, but tries to be a man after your own heart Jesus. I praise you for his shouts of "GLORY!!" during worship service. Shows us how he loves you deeply. I thank you for his family who show me how a loving and supporting family they can be, every day.
Lord Jesus I thank you for using your Holy Spirit to convict me of sin when Pastor Shares from his heart and your Word, areas in my life that need correction and repentance.
Lord Jesus I don't know how to share this without me sounding phony or fake. But ever since my Pastor came to Shannon Park, I have seen folks come and I have seen them leave. Folks who pledged to support my Pastor. I saw hurt feelings and disappointly I saw people leave Shannon Park. But through it all Lord Jesus, I saw my Pastor lean on you and your Word. He did not waiver, he did not falter. I am sure he struggled, don't we all Lord? You would know...
Lord Jesus I myself have struggled with somethings, but when I went to my prayer closet you showed me that your Holy Spirit and Him alone was convicting me of my sin, not my Pastor.
Lord my prayer is that you would give my pastor wisdom, may your Holy Spriti continue to guide his life as he leads Shannon Park as our pastor, As he lead his family as a husband, father and grandpa, and as a man who is trying to walk in your ways Lord Jesus. Please continue to light his path.

We are so blest upon knowing that your Church is growing having a big heart for the missions. We believe that your Church is a God- given instrument to reach out the lost and to help the needs of our ministry here in the Philippines.
This is Dr. Cresencio L. Dayogo from the Philippines, a Pastor of Harvester Bible Baptist Church in the Philippines inc., an Independent Church.
The greatest mission of our Church is a Evangelism/Church planting. The members of our Church were trained up to give for the mission. We confess that since we only have one hundred members in our congregation so we are hard up to support and give needs of our around 12 local missionaries to the rural areas ( in the tribes people at the northern part of the Philippines)
Another ministry the Lord has given us is the Theological College and the Academy. By the grace of God we were able to secure a permit to operate a School from our government (Department of Education) but our big problem started last year when our School buildings and other facilities were damaged by a strong typhoon that hit our place on May 2008. (we were the center of the strong typhoon) By the grace of God we were able to improve our School facilities 40% but again just this year May 2009 we were again a victim of the strong typhoon unfortunately, our School buildings and other facilities were damaged again.
We were advised ( warned ) by the our government (Department of Education) to improve our facilities for us to be able to secure a recognition or permit to operate a School. Thus, we are praying for one hundred eighty thousand dollars ($180,000.00) f or building improvements and a sixteen thousand dollars ($ 16,000) monthly for our missionaries (Church planting program)
We the only Christian Academy in our Town. Our Academy is a great access to meet people for evangelism. One of the place in the Philippines where you can find young people and children being furnished by their parents because of faith, and wives being tortured by their husbands because of faith is in our place. Doors are closed for Bible study, but thank the Lord because our Academy is a great instrument and a great access where we can meet people for witnessing and Bible study. A lot of parents and students were saved through our Academy and that is why we have to improve our facilities.
By virtue of your merciful heart we ask for your prayers and support for the aforesaid needs.
We look forward to and hoping for your positive response favorable to our request for the glory of God.
